Derek Dicker

Throughout my career, I've been fortunate to work with and learn from diverse teams across the globe, helping to drive business growth through strategic collaboration with colleagues, customers, and partners. My professional journey began at Intel, where I spent a decade honing skills in product sales and marketing, contributing to Intel’s role in shaping the PC industry. I then transitioned into general management roles with full P&L responsibility at small and mid-cap publicly traded companies, including IDT and PMC-Sierra. After the acquisition of PMC-Sierra by Microsemi, I was one of three executives retained to oversee the integration and continued success of the PMC-Sierra business. After Microsemi, I served as Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Storage Business Unit at Micron. There, I managed a multi-billion-dollar P&L and drove the roadmap of world-class storage products based on Micron’s leading-edge nonvolatile memory technology. Today I am responsible for AMD's EPYC business in the Enterprise and High Performance Compute segments, as well as ecosystem relationships for AMD datacenter products. In this capacity, I work at the intersection of technology and business strategy, helping to position AMD as a leader in next-generation computing solutions for the Enterprise and HPC. Beyond my corporate experience, I am deeply engaged in the start-up ecosystem. I served as Independent Director and CEO of Nyriad and held Board Observer roles at Navini Networks (acquired by Cisco) and Lightbits Labs. As an active angel investor and advisor, I have supported ventures such as 21 Seeds (acquired by Diageo) and OmniML (acquired by Nvidia). Currently, I serve on the Technical Advisory Board at minds.ai, where I contribute to advancing the application of AI and Reinforcement Learning in semiconductor manufacturing. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, I have completed INSEAD’s Young Manager Programme and the Stanford Executive Program. My contributions to academia include co-authoring a Stanford Graduate School of Business case study, "PMC-Sierra: Riding the Waves of Disruption," and serving as a guest lecturer in multiple Stanford GSB executive education courses.
